When Hurricane Helene tore through our area at the end of September, the destruction to the Little River Electric Cooperative system was the worst we’ve ever seen, breaking nearly 400 poles throughout our service territory, knocking transmission infrastructure and communications offline, destroying equipment and putting 96% of our members in the dark.
From that morning of the storm, our line crews and employees worked tirelessly alongside crews from across the nation to rebuild our system and restore power.
In addition to returning reliable power to our members, safety is our top concern. We encourage you to drive slowly any time you encounter our crews, stay away from downed powerlines.
