Happy New Year! How did we get to 2023 so fast? It’s been so busy here at Little River we didn’t see a new year sneaking in. Before we jump into this new year, let’s recap some accomplishments from 2022.
Our crews had a record year for new construction. Nearly 400 new serves were installed across our whole system. Since 2020, our growth has been significant. With the help of our contractors, UPA, we have changed 150 bad poles on several substations. We’ve installed squirrel guards in troubled outage areas. Our rights-of-way are looking better than ever. Our staff has really been working hard on all these accomplishments, on top of our everyday maintenance.
Out with the old and in with the new. Let’s jump into 2023! In March, we are changing our billing software. This change will mean your bills will look different, with more details that we believe will be more helpful and easier to read. We will also be processing your payments in-house. Our staff has already begun training in the new system, so they’ll be prepared when the big day arrives.
You’ll need to prepare for the change, too!
If you are on bank draft or pay through our online portal, watch for more information from us over the next couple of months. Because your bank account information will not transfer to our new system, you will be required to set up your draft again. If you currently have an online account, that will also require you to set up a new online account through SmartHub, the new online and mobile payment service.
No changes are to be made right now. There will be more information and important dates to remember coming soon. We’ll keep you informed on our website, our Facebook page and in February’s South Carolina Living.
In the coming months, we realize this change will come with a few surprises, but with your patience we’ll work through them together. Together we will make this upgrade a success.
