Jeff Lewis, General Manager
Hello everyone and happy new year! I hope you all had a great holiday season. Let me introduce myself. I am the new General Manager of Little River Electric Cooperative. I’m excited and humbled to be joining the “family” of an organization with a strong community commitment. I am very thankful for the mentorship the last few months from Mike Ellis. While it is an impossible task to absorb 47 1/2 years of institutional knowledge, he has been an invaluable resource during the transition.
I have grown up as a cooperative member. I understand and embrace the cooperative business model and know how important the co-ops are to the community they serve. We will focus on employee and member safety, member satisfaction, economic development and providing reliable, affordable power.
For the past 20 years, I was the Director of Finance at Central Electric Power Cooperative, the generation and transmission cooperative in Columbia. Central is the power supplier for the 20 distribution cooperatives in South Carolina. In addition to finance management, I led the implementation of enterprise risk management and strategic planning through the creation of multi-year business plans. I look forward to bringing my experience to help continue the solid foundation already in place at Little River.

Little River Electric Co-op and Cobank recently made a contribution to Abbeville Promise, a program of the Freshwater Coast Community Foundation. Pictured are Andy Timmerman, Abbeville Promise co-chair; Jeff Lewis, general manager of LREC; Zack Smith, manager of finance and administration of LREC; and Lee Logan, Freshwater Coast Community Foundation secretary (left to right).
On a personal note, I am from Chapin, but will be moving closer to the co-op soon. My wife Beth and I have been married for more than 23 years. We have two daughters. One is a senior at the University of South Carolina, while the other is a senior at Dutch Fork High School. I enjoy traveling, hiking, coaching youth sports (while it lasted) and spending time with family. I am a USC graduate and a certified public accountant.
I would like to thank the Board of Trustees for its support and confidence. If you see me around town, please stop and introduce yourself. I look forward to serving each of you in the new year and for years to come.
