Little River Electric Cooperative members who register for the Beat The Peak program by December 15, 2020, will be eligible to win a $500 Visa gift card in a statewide prize drawing. In addition, one Little River Electric Cooperative member will win a $100 gift card from a local prize drawing. If you are already participating in Beat The Peak, it is not necessary to register again to be eligible for the prizes.
By registering, you’ll receive an alert that shows the projected time of a system-wide energy peak. By voluntarily delaying the use of large appliances, adjusting your thermostat, or just turning off some lights during that peak time, you’ll be helping to lower wholesale power costs.
Across the state, volunteers have signed up for alerts that let them know when a peak is on the way. According to a recent impact study, the innovative program has saved South Carolina’s electric cooperatives $618,195 since its inception in 2018. That’s savings Little River Electric has used to keep costs as low as possible for its members.
