Once again spring has passed us by, and summer has arrived with a vengeance, with near record-breaking temperatures in excess of 95 degrees the entire last week of May. This is 10 degrees above normal for this time of the year and with no rain in weeks has left our beautiful spring blooms and grass dry and brown.

MIKE ELLIS,
General Manager
Everyone saw a decrease in electric usage on their April power bill due to milder temperatures. Winter usage, as normal, was higher due to colder temperatures. Generally, there are a few months in the spring and fall where the milder temperatures lull us into the feeling that the cost of electricity has gone down. The weather has a major role in your power usage. Everyone can expect their usage will probably be up again for the month of May, due to turning our air conditioners on a little sooner than we had planned.
Air conditioners and heat pumps have been running constantly to keep temperatures bearable inside for the past week, and the heatwave looks to continue into the summer, at this point. Please keep check on pets and anyone that you know that may not have family looking in on them; these are extremely dangerous temperatures.
Conserve whenever you can and join our Beat the Peak program. Have a wonderful summer!
